AB1214 VITAMIN D SUPPLEMENTATION IN FIBROMYALGIA: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Background Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic disease characterized by diffuse pain associated with high levels of fatigue whose intensity very variable. Similar symptoms are found in patients low vitamin D, that behaves like hormone multiple receptors spread several tissues. Although its role the pathophysiology FM remains unclear many studies point to correlation between D deficiency and severity. (1) Objectives Conduct systematic review literature determine value supplementation fibromyalgia. Methods Medline, EMBASE, Cochrane databases were searched, from January 2000 2022, using descriptors “Fibromyalgia”, “Fatigue” “Vitamin D.” Randomized clinical control trials including whom was made selected. Data comprised sociodemographic description, diagnosis criteria, fibromyalgia symptoms, Impact Questionnaire (FIQ), short-form 36 (SF36), protocol collected. Results Of initial 2480 articles, 4 eligible for final analysis. One did not observe any significant improvement FIQ scores supplementation. The remaining three observed improvements SF-36 but different extents. only demonstrated specific components SF-36, also demonstrating concerning morning fatigue. Another demonstrates all SF-36parameters, except level. Lastly, other both scales. Conclusion Our shows conflicting results regarding quality life FM(S). These can be explained supplementations protocols baseline which it decided supplement. Nevertheless, appears have benefit patients.
